Pictures from our 2006 trips are posted here.

The Holy Cross Trip was August 18th, 19th & 20th.

We left out on Thursday night after work. The truck started acting up on the way out of town and we ended up staying at DeDe's house that night and left for camp Friday morning after we fixed the truck and the Scout. THANKS DEDE AND SHERRI!!!!!

While the adults set up camp the kids played for awhile.

Well, the adults played a little, too.

All of Friday it kept raining and then stopped and then started again and then stopped and then started again.

Is Chuck doing the Cutting Firewood Dance or did Kris just make that big log fall on Chuck's foot?

Bill is either doing the Building The Firepit Dance or he just dropped one of those little rocks on his own foot.

About the time we started making dinner the rain came back and didn't stop so we made a tarp shelter and then sat under it until it was time for bed.

We ran the trail on Saturday. You'll notice there are some different vehicles from the Buena Vista trip. Kris and Luke are on quads and Bill is in his brother-in-law's Jeep. Travis' Scout and Chuck's Jeep were fixed in time to make the trip though.

Cara is going to be a spotter when she gets older.

After spotting for Travis, Cara needed a nap. After her nap, the kids were ready to pose for a very cute picture.

After a day on the trail it was time to go back to camp and play.

Saturday was Kris' birthday so we had a party for him. He got a new hunting video game. That was when he's not

Cassie and Bill did the dishes while Hilary put the finishing touches on the cake.

Kris names this "You Can Never Have Enough Chocolate Chocolate Cake." Here's what's in it: Brownie mix and German chocolate cake mix together with about 3/4 bag of chocolate chips. That gives you 2 layers and there's chocolate fudge frosting between the 2 layers with the icing on top with the rest of the chocolate chips on top.

The fire was really big so Luke found a way to stand by the fire and not let it burn his face off.

The Buena Vista Trip was June 2nd, 3rd, &4th

We camped above Cottonwood lake and Wheeled Iron Chest & Chinaman's Gulch.

Most of us left out on Thursday night after work. The adventure started off early when the Big Jeep wouldn't start before we even left the driveway.

On Friday, we ran part of Iron Chest. The rigs included Travis' Silver Scout, Luke's White Scout. Chuck's Blue Jeep, Bill's Green Jeep and Kris' Orange Jeep. The passengers included Hilary, Cassie, Nikki, Nicole, Chris, Hunter, Tyler, Beau, Cara and Kaos.

About halfway through the rock garden Luke had fuel pump problems.

While the guys fixed Luke's Scout, the rest of realaxed in the rocks.

They fixed Luke by taking the gas cap off and putting an air hose in the tank and stuffing rags around it and running the hose around and under the Scout.

Luke maybe getting a bigger sticker.

Moving Again

After the Rock Garden we got turned around and took a lunch break.

Everybody made it off the trail. Bill also had fuel pump problems and had to change it before we could go. While we were waiting for that Chuck and Luke ran to Napa for parts so they could work on rigs at camp for the next day.

Travis did a little playing after everybody was off the trail.

While we waited for everybody to get off the trail, Tyler kept us entertained.

Back at camp.

On Saturday the Big Jeep had to make a stop at Napa before we left for the trail because Kris thought the week old trani-mount had broke. Turned out it didn't, there were bigger problems that'd have to wait. (The Buena Vista Napa people were very nice all 3 times our group visited them.)

For the China Men's Gulch trip we had Travis' Scout, Luke's Scout, Bill's Jeep, Chuck's Jeep, Kris' Jeep, Hayden's Bronco, Josh's Toyota, John's Jeep, Luke (#2)'s motorcycle, Al's motorcycle and Chris  Renee and Jerry on ATVs.

We added DeDe and Katie as passengers.

Kaos had tons of fun and took many naps.

Travis going through first big obstacle with John riding.

Bill going through first obstacle with Josh riding.

Chuck going through the first obstacle with DeDe riding.

Travis let Hayden drive the Scout over the first obstacle.

The second obstacle at China Men's. No problem for the kids!

No problem for Travis either.

Small problem for Luke.

Rice Crispie Treat Break!!

Back to work.

Josh's turn.

We're pretty sure Josh had fun.

We Had A Lot of People Watching

Poor Chuck, not only did he have some trouble on this obstacle, but....

....he had to have his son tow him through the obstacle. Surely Bill won't rub it in too much!

Luckily no pictures were taken later when a Scout had to help Chuck up an obstacle.

Finally, it's Kris' turn!

The last obstacle of the day. (Actually the last one that Hilary got pictures of.)

Bill called his Mom and asked if she would bring parts for his Dad's Jeep. Wasn't that nice of him? She was nice enough to bring them to Buena Vista, but they ended up not working.

Uh oh, Cassie sort of got a picture of a Scout pulling Chuck's Jeep. Don't worry Chuck. You can't see that your winch was attached to Luke's Scout.

We were on the trail for so long that Kaos needed to go play in the creek for awhile. Watching her in real life is a lot more fun than looking at the pictures. When we were in the part of the creek that was moving pretty fast and she kept loosing the stick I threw to her so she kept trying to bring me those trees you can see laying in the water. She liked the calm part much better.

Fun At Camp

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary on the trip. Here are some pictures from the celebration.

This is what Beau looks like jealous and frustrated.

The Year Old Wedding Cake

The cake didn't taste as bad as we thouht it would. WHOA! Is that a picture of Hilary? How did she get on the other side of the camera?

Kaos figured out how to unzip the tent so she could go have coffee with Chuck every morning and went to bed on her own on Saturday night.

This is what camp looked like the morning before we took everything down.

Cassie doesn't like her picture taken, so you have to be kind of sneaky.

Kaos will pose for a picture as long as she thinks you're going to play fetch with her.

Breakfast on the last morning. If anybody left hungry it was their own fault!

We stopped to go fishing on the creek before we started the trip home.
